Electrical Earthing Are you compliant

Does your electrical installation comply with AS3000 & AS2067? Do you know the quickest, easiest and most cost-effective way to become compliant?

Over the past decade Integral Power has undertaken earthing surveys across Australia. In recent months our High Voltage Earthing team has been extremely busy undertaking HV earthing surveys at numerous industrial sites.

In these surveys we ensure that step and touch potentials arising from a fault are kept within the safe range. Surveys also ensure compliance with the AS3000 and AS2067.

Our surveys conducted in 3 steps:

Step 1: Site Resistance Measurement

Integral Power deploys state-of-the-art test equipment to accurately measure the soil resistivity and earthing resistance at the installation. We then calculate the voltage rise that could occur under fault conditions.

Step 2: Site Continuity

Next we confirm equipotential bonding i.e. to see if all conductive parts of the equipment within the installation has adequate low resistance connection to earth. A High Current/Low Resistance Ohm-meter is deployed for this task and is a significant step towards gaining AS/NZS3000 and AS/NZS2067 compliance.

Step 3: Substation Surveys

A detailed visual survey is conducted by our earthing engineer to identify any immediate safety issues. During this visit the engineer will also conduct a suite of measurements that allows us to accurately simulate the possible electric shocks that could happen during an electrical fault. Defects are recorded and a detailed report is produced which includes, all measurement results together with recommendations that will improve safety.
